ARHSnsw by invitation from 3801 Limited in association with the Hunter Valley Training Company has been offered a carriage on the two suburban steam tours being run in March 2012. It is expected that these tours will book very quickly and 3801 Limited will accept our bookings on a FIRST COME FIRST BOOKED basis for both tours.
Tour 1 on Sunday 4 March 2012 will depart Central around 9am and travel via the Bankstown line and the Lidcombe triangle to Carlingford. The train will then return to Rosehill with SMR 18 trailing followed by a brief trip to Sandown before continuing on to Blacktown and the branch to Richmond. There will be sufficient time for a leisurely lunch while the train is re-marshaled for a bunker-first return run to Central due about 4.30pm.
Tour 2 on Sunday 25 March 2012 will depart Central around 9am and travel to Hornsby with SMR 18 leading. From Hornsby the train will be headed to Waverton by our diesel locomotive before negotiating the Lavender Bay Sidings. SMR 18 will then head the train to Hawkesbury River via Hornsby. Once again there will be about 90 minutes for a leisurely lunch whilst the train is re-marshalled for a bunker-first run returning to Central about 4.30pm.
